Wearable Art: Iris van Herpen

  • by Jennifer Maxwell

Iris van Herpen is a spectacular Dutch designer who plays with 3D printed fashion. She says,

“I feel it’s important that fashion can be about much more than consumerism, but also about new beginnings and self-expression, so my work very much comes from abstract ideas using new technologies, not the re-invention of old ideas.”

It feels natural to follow the crowd and do things that have been done before. But it takes a special mind to see what hasn’t been done and jump on the opportunity. These are the minds that we should take note of.

This week’s blog is about van Herpen because she has made something that is beautiful, revolutionary, and bold. She represents possibility and courage.

I strive to be unique and Iris van Herpen is a great role model.
